1998 STAMAS 250 TARPON (built 1997) click on picture to enlarge it STAMAS YACHTS custom rigged this boat for me in 1998. I ordered every option that was available to go along with the very extensive list of features that STAMAS considers to be "standard". I have also upgraded her recently with a new color Garmin chart plotter GPS, and a new custom made canvas console cover.
STAMAS is a very well respected, privately owned company, and a pioneer in the fiberglass boating industry. I visited their "factory" in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and I was told by George Stamas himself, that this 25 foot hull design is the best running hull in his lineup. I can vouch for his opinion absolutely, since I have made several long ocean crossings in this boat myself. This hull cuts through head seas with absolutely no problem, and has handled anything that I have asked of it. By the way, she catches fish too…I have pictures.
The optional equipment includes complete coaming (padding) all around, extra removable seating, a “head” in the console, bow dodger, outriggers and deluxe T top, among many others. I have just recently completely rebuilt the brakes on the trailer. She is professionally serviced every year, and is always stored in my garage when not in use.
The only reason I'm selling her is to buy a newer and bigger Stamas. They still make this same exact boat, and the price for a new one with this equipment is well over $100,000.00. I’m asking $29,900.00 with no excuses for her. I might be interested in boats, cars, trucks, equipment, aircraft or land in trade.
